Turkey-Ukraine defense industry ties are booming. Ukraine will use a machine developed in Turkey for the production of rocket body parts according to Anadolu Agency. Repkon Makina, which provides innovative solutions through R & D studies in the metal forming sector, is interested in domestic and international strategic products for defense, aerospace and space industry.
With “flowforming” machines developed by Repkon, turbine and engine parts, satellite launch rocket bodies, high pressure and temperature-resistant nozzles, conical heads and drive shafts, motion systems, warheads and rocket-missile bodies made of metal, torpedo bodies, parts such as precision copper cones used in anti-tank rockets can be produced.
The flowforming method was used for over half a century, but it was not possible to make an inner contour on the part with this method. Repkon succeeded in removing these constraints by developing the “free flowforming” method, which has been protected with patents around the world. Thus, many parts, which had technological constraints and could not be produced before, can now be produced by a method developed by a Turkish company.
The latest country that got in contact with Repkon for this technology was Ukraine.
By choosing the “flowforming” method on rocket body parts, Ukraine will be able to raise the mechanical strength of the material to a higher level and produce a lightened rocket pipe.
Higher quality values are achieved in the bodies produced by this method, while more importantly, substantial increase is ensured in the internal volume of the body. In this case, as the fuel capacity in the body increases, an aerodynamic smooth flight trajectory can be achieved due to the geometric accuracy of the part, as well as the increase in the range. Thanks to newly acquired technology, Ukraine will gain a significant advantage in the defense industry.
