Special Operations Department accepts Kirpi

Undersecretariat of Defense Industries (SSM) announced that the acceptance of 40 Kirpi armored vehicles has been successfully completed under the The General Directorate of Security (EGM) Protected Vehicle Project. The vehicles will be used during operations within the EGM Special Operations Department.

Kirpi armored vehicles, which started to enter the TSK inventory in 2011, has succeeded in protecting the military personnel in many terrorist attacks. The first foreign user of Kirpi was the Tunisian Armed Forces.The Tunisian Army, which added 40 Kirpi armored vehicles to its inventory, ordered 101 more Turkish vehicle. According to the information received from the BMC, negotiations on the sale of the vehicles to Turkmenistan continue. On the other hand, Kirpi is also preferred by the Qatar Army.
