SAAB recieves order for Gripen maintenance support

Defence and security company Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) to perform support and maintenance for Gripen during 2016 on behalf of the Swedish Armed Forces. The total order value is SEK150 million.

This order is an extension of a 2012 agreement to provide performance-based support and maintenance for the Gripen aircraft, including technical support, publications, spare equipment and component maintenance to ensure continued Gripen operations. This order covers the further supply of spare equipment.

“Well functioning support and maintenance are essential to maintain efficient operations and availability of a country’s air force. Today’s order will ensure that for the Gripen system,” says Jonas Hjelm, head of Saab’s business area Support and Services.

The work will be carried out at Saab’s facilities in Linköping and Arboga, Sweden.
