Prof. Dr. Abdullah Çavuşoğlu has appointed as new Chairman to HAVELSAN, Turkey’s one of the biggest national defence systems company.
According to the statement published by HAVELSAN, the new Board of Directors of the company is composed of the following names: Taner Düvenci: Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Assoc. Dr. İrfan Neziroğlu: Member of the Board of Directors, Ahmet Akyol: Member of the Board of Directors, Gökhan Gökay: Member of the Board of Directors.
Who is Abdullah Çavuşoğlu:
Abdullah Çavuşoğlu was born in Konya in 1964. He received his B.A. from the department of Electronic Education, Faculty of Technical Education at Gazi University in 1985, his M.A. from the Institute of Science and Technology of the same university in 1988 and his Ph.D. from the department of Computer Engineering at Sussex University in 1993. Abdullah Çavuşoğlu did some studies on computer graphics during his postgraduate and doctorate years.
Abdullah Çavuşoğlu, who served at Gazi University for 22 years, worked as a research assistant, an assistant professor, an associate professor and a professor at the same university between 1986 and 2008. He served as a General Council member in ÖSYM for 3 years, starting from 2008 and as a Chairman Advisor in CoHE for about 6 years. He became the founding dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Karabük University in 2009, and then served as the Vice Rector at Yıldırım Beyazıt University and as the founding dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. Abdullah Çavuşoğlu, who took part in a great deal of projects during his academic life, had over 50 postgraduate students including 5 doctoral students.
Prof. Abdullah Çavuşoğlu took office as a Science Board member in TUBITAK starting from May, 2013. Then he started working as a Vice President in TUBITAK on February, 2014 and was assigned as a General Council member in CoHE on July 25,2015.
