FNSS Defence Systems signed a contract with Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) to produce 27 ZAHA armoured amphibious vehicles for the TCG Anadolu, the Turkish Navy’s forthcoming landing helicopter dock (LHD).
The contract was signed on 07 March and comprises of 23 armoured personnel carriers (APC), two rescue vehicles and two command vehicles. The ZAHA will be designed in accordance with Turkey’s indigenization policy, and thus, will draw exclusively from FNSS’ technology capabilities.
Aim: Superiority over others
SSM explained that the specifications of ZAHA were determined by taking into account the operational concept and mission requirements defined by the Turkish Naval Forces Command. Also SSM announced that ZAHA project’s prior aim is superiority over other similar systems.
