The first exports of Vestel Defense’s tactical unmanned aerial vehicle Karayel-Su, which was developed with national abilities, were realized. Ömer Yüngül, CEO of Zorlu Holding, spoke to the Star newspaper about the export. “We have done the first exports in the unmanned aerial vehicles and the continuation will come,” Yüngül said.
The armed version of Karayel was produced upon request from the authorities and the ammunition integration was completed in a 3 months and the flight was successfully completed in June of the year we passed.
In order to ensure that Karayel can carry more beneficial loads, the wing clearance was increased and he reached the ability to carry 120 kg of ammunition in total. The wing stations have been developed in a modular structure so that they can carry loads other than ammunition. The local ammunitions used by Karayel are provided by Roketsan.
Despite the lack of clarification, it is estimated that export is made to one of the MENA countries.
