Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM), announced that Cyber Defense Operation Center was opened.
The Cyber Defense Operations Center will carry out actions to ensure that the Turkish Army’s information systems are safe and capable of reacting instantly to cyber defense issues and reducing the effects of possible attacks. The expert staff in the center will serve against all kinds of cyber threats. The center will develop “defense-focused” strategies by analyzing the attacks.
Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, Undersecretary for Defence Industries, Mustafa Şeker Deputy Undersecretary for Defence Industries, Davut Yılmaz General Manager of STM and military staff attended to the opening ceremony.
The Cyber Defense Center, established in the Turkish Armed Forces in 2012, was transformed into Cyber Defense Command on 30 August 2013. Under the scope of “Cyber Defense Center Project”, a contract was signed with STM last year.
On the other hand, 980 thousand of the 6,5 million cyber attacks in the world targeted Turkey last year.
